Chocolate Pumpkin Loaf

Some of hte ladies at church have been making this lately and it's fantastic!


Pumpkin Chocolate Loaf


3 1/2 cups sugar
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 eggs
1 can (29 oz) pumpkin
3 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened
chocolate, melted & cooled
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
3 3/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
2 cups (12 oz) chocolate chips

In a large bowl combine sugar & oil. Add eggs; mix well. Stir in pumpkin, chocolate &vanilla; mix well. Combine dry ingredients; stir into pumpkin mixture just until blended. Stir in chips.

Transfer to 3 greased 9x5x3 loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 55-65 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes before removing to wire racks.
